Overview
Two bases. Italy's greatest climbs.
We start in Bormio, at the foot of the Stelvio, for three nights: the Mortirolo and the Gavia on day one, both sides of the Stelvio and the Umbrail on day two. Then we move to Alleghe, by its lake in the heart of the Dolomites, and ride the Costalunga and the Fedaia, the Sella Ronda, the Giau and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. The last morning we climb the Fedaia in the dark to catch the first light on the Marmolada.
Most days are 70 to 130 km with 2,000 to 3,900 m of climbing, measured on our own routes. It's not a race: two riding groups, one guide for every eight riders, and the van never far away.

Bring your own bike, or ride an Aurum Magma from our rental fleet. We build it, fit it and have it waiting at the hotel in Bormio.
Trip rentalBringing your own?No extra cost. Bring it boxed and we'll build it on arrival day. Fit an 11–34 or easier cassette for the Mortirolo. Rental bikes are limited, so book early.

Our advice for flights
- Land in Milan by midday on day one so we reach Bormio in time to build your bike.
- Fly home from Venice on day seven, after the night ride and breakfast.
- Book a flexible fare and send us your flight times.
- Group transfers run at set times from and to each airport.
Flights are not included in the trip price.
Weather
What to expect
Summer in the Alps is warm in Bormio and Alleghe, but the Stelvio at 2,758 m can be close to freezing in the morning, and afternoon thunderstorms are common in the Dolomites. Always carry a rain jacket and a gilet; the van carries your extra layers.

What to expect from the riding, and what to pack.
Who it's for
Avid intermediate riders comfortable with back-to-back days of 100–130 km and up to 3,900 m. The Mortirolo averages more than 11 % for 11 km. Two riding groups mean everyone climbs at their own pace.
High passes
The Stelvio, Gavia and Umbrail open in late spring and can close for snow even in summer. If a pass is closed, we ride the planned alternative.
What to bring
Climbing gears (34×32 or easier), a rain jacket, arm warmers and a gilet, front and rear lights for the night ride, and your ID for the Swiss border on the Stelvio day.
