From Bormio to Alleghe, ride the climbs of the Giro d’Italia with Velodrom. Mortirolo, Gavia, Stelvio and the Dolomites form an ambitious journey for experienced riders who love long mountain days.
This is a reference itinerary from our previous trip programme. Dates, stages, hotels, support and price are confirmed in your personalised proposal; weather and road access can change the route.
Reference format: seven days, six nights and six riding stages; approximately 570 km and 16,420 m of climbing. Arrival at Milan Malpensa and departure from Venice Marco Polo were the transfer points. Confirm the current plan before arranging flights.
Mortirolo and Gavia: start with two giants above Bormio. Cross Mortirolo towards Ponte di Legno, then tackle Gavia and its high-mountain scenery. A demanding opening stage with sustained climbing.
Umbrail and Stelvio: ride towards the Swiss border and Passo Umbrail before returning to Italy for Stelvio. High altitude, long climbs and descents make pacing and preparation essential.
Carezza and Fedaia: transfer towards Bolzano, climb Costalunga and pass Lake Carezza before continuing towards Fedaia and the Marmolada. This stage links the Italian Alps with the Dolomites.
Giau, Tre Cime and Falzarego: the queen stage brings together spectacular Dolomite landscapes and steep climbing. Discuss shorter alternatives with the team when choosing your itinerary.
Sella Ronda: ride from Alleghe through Pordoi, Sella and Gardena towards Corvara, then return via Valparola. A day of successive passes and changing mountain views.
Sunrise on Fedaia: an early departure offers the chance to reach the mountains in the first light. This ride depends on weather and conditions; suitable front and rear lights are essential if riding before dawn.
Our reference bases are Bormio and Alleghe, with Baita dei Pini and Sporthotel Europa featured in the previous programme. Staying several nights in each base reduces packing and transfers. Current hotel selection and room type are confirmed in the quote.
The previous supported programmes brought together airport and stage transfers, accommodation, breakfasts, on-road food, dinners, guiding, mechanical support and vehicle assistance. Ask about rider groups, staffing, rental bikes, welcome kit and photography for your departure. Your written proposal defines the inclusions and any extras.
Confirm flights, travel insurance, tips, alcoholic drinks and any additional photography separately. Let us know dietary needs and bike requirements before confirming. Do not arrange travel until the dates and meeting points are agreed.
Tell us your preferred dates, group size, road or gravel preference and typical daily distance and climbing. We will help shape a trip around your experience, pace and priorities.
Ask for upcoming dates and a personalised quote.
