Can I ride the Targon without the chin guard?

Yes, that is the idea. The Targon is a modular full-face: the chin guard comes off with the Speed Latch system for climbing, and you can carry it on your arm or handlebars. Clip it back on at the top for full face protection on the descent. It weighs about 970 g in size M with the guard, and has a goggle fit, breakaway visor and adjustable Vario cheek pads.

Speed Latch chin guard

The Targon's chin guard clips on and off with ABUS's Speed Latch mechanism, without jamming. Ride up with it off and carried on your arm or bars for more air, then clip it back on for full face protection on the way down.

Breakaway visor

A peak that shields against sun and branches and is designed to detach in a crash, so it does not snag and throw the head back — ABUS's way of reducing strain on the neck.
