The RSV S11 (list €350) is what Assos calls the most advanced Racing Series short in its history, engineered for ultra-endurance races at high intensity. Over the Dyora R (€200) it adds Type.959Kompressor on the legs with woven-in ELECTRIFIED grip, a longer flederMann leg, and an insert with 4 mm ultraDistance pads under the sit bones on the 9 mm base, plus kraterCooler, whirlKrater and a Mineral Tec surface. Ride intensity 5/5 vs 4/5. The Dyora R keeps the same Type.911 seat fabric and X-Frame for daily training and racing.

What is Assos’s Racing Series?

Assos files its race bibs under Equipe | Racing (men) and Dyora | Racing (women), and describes the series as its ultimate speed collection: aerodynamic, second-skin cuts; compressive, temperature-regulating fabrics; ultralight designs proven in the WorldTour. Our Equipe R, Equipe RS Schtradivari, Dyora R, Dyora R Spring Fall and Dyora RSV are in it. For long, steadier rides, look at Mille | Endurance (men) and Uma | Endurance (women).

Which Assos insert (chamois) is right, and how long a ride is it for?

Assos doesn’t give ride durations; it publishes each insert’s thickness and a 1–5 “ride intensity” rating. Race inserts are thin and firm: Equipe R / Dyora R S11 and Equipe RS S11 use a single 9 mm layer (intensity 4/5 and 5/5). Endurance inserts add cushioning: Mille GT / Uma GT S11 12 mm (3/5), Mille GTS S11 twin 9 + 4 mm (4/5), Mille GTO S11 twin 11 + 10 mm (4/5). Dyora RSV and Uma GTV use 9 mm with 4 mm ultraDistance pads under the sit bones. Thicker isn’t automatically better for long days: Assos builds the 9 + 4 mm RSV for ultra-endurance racing, for riders in an aggressive position.

Do Assos women’s bib shorts make nature breaks easy?

Of the women’s bibs we carry, only the Uma GTV S11 has a dedicated system: bisiClick, twin magnetic closures on the bib straps that Assos says are intuitive to release and reconnect but won’t open by accident — Assos designed it for quick natural breaks on long days. The Dyora R, Dyora R Spring Fall, Dyora RSV, Uma GT and Tactica pages describe no such feature, so with those you lower the straps as with any bib short.

How do Assos women’s bib shorts fit, and which size should I pick?

For women’s shorts and bibs, Assos sizes by hips: measure around the fullest part of your hips, then factor in your height, and check Assos’s chart in the size guide (XS is 80–86 cm hips, XXL from 115 cm). Assos cuts its bibs to mirror your body on the bike: it’s normal to feel the straps and fabric pull while standing, and the shorts “click” into place once you’re in the riding position. Assos uses the same chart for its racingFit and regularFit models.

Type.959Kompressor + Type.911

The legs use Type.959Kompressor, a new woven fabric Assos calls more breathable, cooling and compressive than its earlier Kompressor materials, with more abrasion resistance and anti-slip properties built in. Seat and core are in the softer, less compressive Type.911. Both UPF 50+.

AEDP flederMann racingFit

A second-skin, aerodynamic racingFit developed from WorldTour research: micro-adjusted shaping wraps the large muscles in compression, in a longer, more aerodynamic leg length. In Assos’s fit guide, racingFit is a close, performance-oriented fit with compressive fabrics for high-intensity riding; compared with regularFit it feels noticeably tighter by design.

Endurance Compression

Muscle-wrapping support with the panels arranged to maximise compression, which Assos says reduces fatigue from micro-vibrations on multi-hour, high-intensity rides.

ELECTRIFIED Grip

Anti-slip yarns woven straight into the Kompressor fabric grip the thigh all the way round, with no separate gripper band.

X-Frame

An A-frame suspension inherited from the Equipe RS line. It limits sag on the lower back, stabilising the insert and main body panel during high-intensity riding.

Shock-Absorb Damping System Twin (9 + 4 mm)

A two-layer platform: 9 mm of foam plus 4 mm ultraDistance inserts under the sit bones, which Assos orients for aggressive positions. Thermoformed shaping eliminates ridges and irritation.

3D Waffle

A patented, three-layer perforated foam that adds breathability and removes excess weight (Assos).

kraterCooler

Perforations at the insert’s leading edge draw in cooling air to keep the microclimate dry and cool.

whirlKrater

Perforations spread across the insert create a swirl of cooling airflow instead of a one-way breeze.

Mineral Tec Surface

A soft, very smooth top sheet on the insert that reduces friction and irritation, dries quickly and has permanent odorControl.
