Equipe R or Mille GT?

They’re Assos’s core racing and core endurance bibs. Equipe R S11 (Assos list price €200): second-skin racingFit, Type.911 compression, X-Frame suspension, 9 mm race insert, ride intensity 4/5. Mille GT S11 (€160): streamlined regularFit, lighter QUARTZ fabric, rollBar bracing, 12 mm endurance insert, ride intensity 3/5. Choose the Equipe R if you ride fast in a low position and like firm compression; the Mille GT for daily riding in a more upright position with more cushioning.

Equipe R or Equipe RS Schtradivari?

Assos says the Equipe R S11 takes technology from the RS Schtradivari S11 — raw-cut cuffs, a minimal silicone grip and the Type.911 fabric — in a simpler construction; the differences are the insert and the bib-strap construction. The Schtradivari’s RS S11 insert adds a Mineral Tec top sheet and kraterCooler/whirlKrater airflow, and the shorts add cranKio Tec hip shaping and an INject gripper. Both inserts are 9 mm; Assos rates ride intensity 5/5 for the RS and 4/5 for the R. List prices: €250 and €200.

What is Assos’s Racing Series?

Assos files its race bibs under Equipe | Racing (men) and Dyora | Racing (women), and describes the series as its ultimate speed collection: aerodynamic, second-skin cuts; compressive, temperature-regulating fabrics; ultralight designs proven in the WorldTour. Our Equipe R, Equipe RS Schtradivari, Dyora R, Dyora R Spring Fall and Dyora RSV are in it. For long, steadier rides, look at Mille | Endurance (men) and Uma | Endurance (women).

racingFit or regularFit — what’s the difference?

They’re Assos’s two main cuts. racingFit (Equipe and Dyora) is, in Assos’s fit guide, a close, performance-oriented fit with compressive fabrics for high-intensity riding — compared with regularFit it feels noticeably tighter by design. regularFit (Mille and Uma) is a balanced technical fit with moderately compressive fabrics: supportive without the tight feel of the Racing models. Assos uses the same size chart for both, so the difference is the feel, not the size.

Which Assos insert (chamois) is right, and how long a ride is it for?

Assos doesn’t give ride durations; it publishes each insert’s thickness and a 1–5 “ride intensity” rating. Race inserts are thin and firm: Equipe R / Dyora R S11 and Equipe RS S11 use a single 9 mm layer (intensity 4/5 and 5/5). Endurance inserts add cushioning: Mille GT / Uma GT S11 12 mm (3/5), Mille GTS S11 twin 9 + 4 mm (4/5), Mille GTO S11 twin 11 + 10 mm (4/5). Dyora RSV and Uma GTV use 9 mm with 4 mm ultraDistance pads under the sit bones. Thicker isn’t automatically better for long days: Assos builds the 9 + 4 mm RSV for ultra-endurance racing, for riders in an aggressive position.

How do Assos bib shorts fit, and which size should I pick?

Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, then factor in your height, with the fullest part of your hips as a third reference, and check Assos’s chart in the size guide. Assos cuts its bibs to mirror your body on the bike: it’s normal to feel the straps and fabric pull while standing, and the shorts “click” into place once you’re in the riding position.

What is the EF edition, and is it different?

The EF versions carry the EF Pro Cycling team’s 2026 graphics — Assos says the kit is called WE RIDE IN PEACE and nods to early spaceflight suits. Underneath they are the same platform: Assos’s own pages describe the Equipe R and Dyora R EF on the R S11 platform and the Mille GT and Uma GT EF on the GT S11, with the same fabric, insert and fit. So sizing, insert and care are the same as the plain version; choose on looks. Assos’s data does rate the Equipe R and Dyora R EF editions 5/5 for racing and ride intensity (4/5 on the standard versions), and lists them higher (€280 / €250 vs €200).
