What is Assos’s Racing Series?

Assos files Equipe (men) and Dyora (women) in its Racing Series, which it describes like this: “The definitive speed series. Second-skin aerodynamic fits. Compressive thermoregulating textiles. Ultralight WorldTour-proven designs.” The series name is on every Assos product page, next to the product’s own 1–5 ratings for endurance, racing and ride intensity.

racingFit or regularFit — what’s the difference?

They’re Assos’s two main cuts. racingFit (Equipe and Dyora) is, in Assos’s fit guide, a close, performance-oriented fit with compressive fabrics for high-intensity riding — compared with regularFit it feels noticeably tighter by design. regularFit (Mille and Uma) is a balanced technical fit with moderately compressive fabrics: supportive without the tight feel of the Racing models. Assos uses the same size chart for both, so the difference is the feel, not the size.

How should I wash Assos cycling clothing?

Assos’s product pages don’t include care instructions, so follow the care label sewn into the garment. Assos sells its own Active Wear Cleanser, made for washing technical cycling clothing.

Fully taped seams ensure the jacket remains watertight, with a tall collar to further lock out the elements. An extended rear panel adds lower back protection, and the water-shedding silicone hem rounds out the design. The jacket is cut in an aerodynamic raceFit.

Featured fabrics

The material used is Assos’s proprietary Schloss Tex. This is Assos’s lightest 3-layer waterproof softshell to date, featuring a rustle-free, stretchy composition and highly breathable, watertight membrane.

Description

The evolution of Assos’s superlight, packable waterproof rain jacket, featuring a more robust membrane and fewer seams throughout for increased protection during year-round training and racing. The TARGA stands in as the third iteration of Assos’s flagship EQUIPE RS Rain Jacket, returning with a more durable black membrane sandwiched in the middle of the 3L Schloss Tex material. In addition to being a touch more watertight, it also adds increased durability to this ASSOS-exclusive ultrathin softshell. Assos also removed the rear pocket slots, as the contents of your pockets are easily reached by unzipping the double-slider zipper from the bottom. This, in conjunction with the new stitchless reflective strip down the center of the back, ensures there are no points of water ingress along the back.
