Mille GT, GTS or GTO?

All three are Assos’s S11 endurance bibs with rollBar bracing and a zeroPressure waist; the insert and fabric step up. Mille GT (list €160): 12 mm single-layer insert, QUARTZ fabric, ride intensity 3/5. Mille GTS (€250): twin-layer 13 mm (9 + 4) insert, Volkano fabric and what Assos calls its most streamlined Mille fit, 4/5. Mille GTO (€350): twin-layer 21 mm (11 + 10) insert that Assos calls the most comfortable endurance insert in the world, OSSIDIA fabric, cranKio Tec and an INject gripper, 4/5. Assos makes GTS and GTO in standard and long (+3 cm) legs; ours are Standard.

Mille GT S11 or Mille GTO S11?

Both are Assos regularFit endurance bibs with rollBar straps and the zeroPressure waist. The GTO is the step up for the longest rides: a twin-layer GTO S11 insert (11+10 mm) with extra support under the sit bones and kraterCooler/whirlKrater perforations, cranKio Tec shaping at the hips and an INject leg gripper, and Assos rates it 5/5 for breathability (GT: 4/5). The GT S11 is lighter-padded at 12 mm and costs less.

Standard or long leg — which version is this?

Assos makes the Mille GTS S11, Mille GTO S11 and Equipe RS Schtradivari S11 in two leg lengths: Standard and Long, which Assos makes 3 cm longer. Our Mille GTS and Mille GTO (“ST” in the title) are the Standard versions. For the Schtradivari we list both, Standard and Long, as separate products. The waist-based size chart is the same for both lengths.

What is Assos’s Endurance Series (Mille and Uma)?

Mille | Endurance (men) and Uma | Endurance (women) are what Assos describes as its complete series for long-distance riding: streamlined regularFit cuts, ultra-plush inserts and muscle-hugging, temperature-regulating fabrics. Our Mille GT, GTS, GTO and GTS Spring Fall, and the Uma GT, GTV and GT Half Shorts, are in it. Assos rates these bibs 4/5 or 5/5 for endurance; for racing, look at Equipe | Racing (men) and Dyora | Racing (women).

Which Assos insert (chamois) is right, and how long a ride is it for?

Assos doesn’t give ride durations; it publishes each insert’s thickness and a 1–5 “ride intensity” rating. Race inserts are thin and firm: Equipe R / Dyora R S11 and Equipe RS S11 use a single 9 mm layer (intensity 4/5 and 5/5). Endurance inserts add cushioning: Mille GT / Uma GT S11 12 mm (3/5), Mille GTS S11 twin 9 + 4 mm (4/5), Mille GTO S11 twin 11 + 10 mm (4/5). Dyora RSV and Uma GTV use 9 mm with 4 mm ultraDistance pads under the sit bones. Thicker isn’t automatically better for long days: Assos builds the 9 + 4 mm RSV for ultra-endurance racing, for riders in an aggressive position.

How do Assos bib shorts fit, and which size should I pick?

Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, then factor in your height, with the fullest part of your hips as a third reference, and check Assos’s chart in the size guide. Assos cuts its bibs to mirror your body on the bike: it’s normal to feel the straps and fabric pull while standing, and the shorts “click” into place once you’re in the riding position.

OSSIDIA + LOSANGA

OSSIDIA, a warp knit with ultrathin elastic yarns, wraps the large muscles in gentle, fatigue-reducing compression. A panel of LOSANGA on the crotch removes pressure and, with Assos’s kukuPenthouse front construction, increases cooling airflow through the insert.

regularFit

The epitome of Assos’s regularFit, engineered for total comfort on the longest rides, upgraded on the GTO with cranKio Tec hip shaping that stops fabric bunching during the pedal stroke. Assos offers standard and long (+3 cm) legs. In Assos’s fit guide, regularFit is a balanced technical fit with moderately compressive fabrics: supportive without the tight feel of the Racing models.

rollBar

A patented bib-strap bracing adapted from Assos’s Racing Series. It stabilises the insert and locks it in place as your weight shifts when sprinting, climbing and cornering.

INject leg gripper

Silicone grip infused only across the back of the raw-cut leg opening: less friction and weight, and the grip is protected from sun and sweat while still holding securely.

cranKio Tec

Shaping across the front of the hips that reduces wrinkling during the pedal stroke, so the fabric doesn’t move and rub against you.

zeroPressure Waist

A soft, very elastic waist construction for comfort and hold at the waist without pressure or pinching.
