It depends on the terrain. The Kassis is Fizik’s trail and MTB helmet: extended coverage, an adjustable breakaway visor and a glasses garage in the rear vents. The Kudo is the lighter, more ventilated helmet for road, gravel and XC (280 g claimed). Both have Mips Air Node, the same dial and crown fit system, the included rear light and the same sizes. In Virginia Tech’s tests the Kudo scored four stars (12.86) and the Kassis three (13.72). Trail riding and descents: Kassis. Road, gravel and XC: Kudo.

Does the Kassis have an adjustable visor?

Yes. Fizik describes it as a breakaway, adjustable peak visor that shields against mud, sun glare and obstacles such as branches. For your sunglasses, the Kassis has a glasses garage built into the rear vents rather than the front.

Do Fizik helmets have Mips?

Yes, all four do, in two versions. The Kudo, Kudo Aero and Kassis use Mips Air Node: an ultralight, low-friction layer built into the padding that dissipates rotational forces in a crash and comes out for cleaning. The Kyros uses Mips Evolve Core: a low-friction layer between the liner and the shell, which Fizik says helps dissipate rotational forces in angled impacts.

Which Fizik helmet size do I need?

Measure your head circumference just above the eyebrows and ears. Fizik uses one chart for the Kudo, Kudo Aero, Kassis and Kyros: S 52–56 cm, M 56–59 cm, L 59–61 cm (20.5–22, 22–23, 23–24 in). If you measure exactly 56 or 59 cm you are on the line between two sizes and Fizik gives no tie-break, so try both if you can; the occipital dial and the crown adjustment then fine-tune the fit.

How safe are Fizik helmets in the Virginia Tech tests?

Virginia Tech tested three of them in 2025 (lower score is better): Kudo Aero four stars, 12.72; Kudo four stars, 12.86; Kassis three stars, 13.72. The Kassis is listed as a mountain helmet but is scored on the same bicycle-helmet scale. The Kyros has not been tested yet.

Extended coverage

Solid construction and extended coverage areas for demanding off-road riding, in a compact design that Fizik says keeps the helmet light and agile.

Adjustable visor and glasses garage

A breakaway, adjustable peak visor shields against mud, sun glare and branches, and glasses storage built into the rear vents holds your eyewear securely when you’re not wearing it.

Mips Air Node

A version of the Mips rotational-impact system built into the helmet's padding rather than added as a separate plastic liner, so the vents stay clear and weight stays down.

Crossbridge in the EPS

A crossbridge element embedded in the EPS foam spreads impact forces across the whole helmet for full-coverage protection, according to Fizik.

Dialed-in fit

A micrometric dial at the occipital stabiliser adjusts tilt for a personal fit and eyewear compatibility; a crown adjustment fine-tunes the helmet to the exact shape of your head, and lightweight ripstop webbing adjusts fully around the ears.

Integrated rear light

A removable passive reflector at the rear and a USB-rechargeable LED taillight that fits into the same port, with several modes for day and night riding. Fizik includes the light and a helmet bag.
