For all riders and every road

For all riders and every road

Fizik calls the Beat a road shoe redefined for riders who won’t stick to one surface: a redesigned shape and a streamlined outsole hiding a two-bolt cleat track, from smooth tarmac to light gravel tracks.

A bit more wiggle room

A completely new shape with a more spacious toe box for long days or easy rides with friends. Simple laces over a soft engineered-mesh upper give, Fizik says, a secure, pressure-free fit.

All-new outsole

All-new outsole

An SPD-compatible outsole that hides a two-bolt cleat track. With a stiffness index of 4, Fizik says it balances comfort and pedalling efficiency; a grippy TPU tread helps walking and stability on the pedals.

Simple, comfortable — SPD

Simple, comfortable — SPD

For a first step into clipless riding or for moving between paved roads, gravel paths and daily errands: Fizik says SPD is simpler and easier to get around in than traditional road cleats, with the locked-in feel you want.

Frequently asked questions

Answered from this product’s published information. Questions about orders or anything else go to our team.

Is the Beat a road shoe or a gravel shoe?

Both, by design. Fizik calls the Beat a versatile road shoe for riders who ride on and off the tarmac: it looks like a road shoe but takes SPD two-bolt cleats in a recessed track, has laces and a roomier toe box, and a stiffness index of 4 that trades some stiffness for comfort. It suits tarmac, light gravel and commuting; for racing or rough MTB trails, the Proxy or Atlas are the better fit.

Can I walk comfortably in the Beat?

Better than in a road shoe. The two-bolt SPD cleat sits in a track hidden in the sole, and Fizik covers the outsole with a grippy TPU tread to improve walking off the bike and stability on the pedals. Fizik says SPD is easier to get around in than traditional road cleats, which makes the Beat a good choice for café stops, commuting or a first clipless shoe.

Which size should I get?

Go by foot length, not by the size of your other shoes. Stand on a sheet of paper, measure from the back of the heel to the tip of the longest toe, and find that length in Fizik’s size guide (the “Size guide” link next to the sizes): 270 mm is EU 42, 277 mm is EU 43. Fizik makes half sizes, and lists all these models as regular fit. Which sizes are in stock varies by colour, so check the size selector.

How stiff is the sole? What does Fizik’s stiffness index mean?

Fizik rates each outsole on its own stiffness index: the higher the number, the stiffer the sole and the more direct the power transfer, while a lower number flexes more and is easier to walk in. For Fizik’s gravel and MTB shoes we sell: Vento Ferox Carbon and Ferox 2 Carbon 10, Vento Proxy 8, Terra Artica GTX and Terra Atlas 5, Beat 4, Terra Nanuq GTX 3. It is Fizik’s own scale, so don’t compare it directly with other brands’ numbers.
