How does Fizik sizing work, and do you have half sizes?

Fizik sizes its shoes by foot length: measure your foot in millimetres, heel to longest toe, and read the size from Fizik’s table in the size guide — 263.5 mm is EU 41, 270 mm is EU 42, 277 mm is EU 43. Fizik makes these road shoes from EU 36 to 48, with half sizes from 37.5 to 46.5. We stock whole sizes only, so compare your measurement with the table before ordering.

Vega Carbon or Vento Powerstrap Aeroweave?

Both are Fizik race shoes with full-carbon outsoles rated 10. The Powerstrap Aeroweave is the lighter one — 184 g against 239 g in Fizik’s figures — with a two-strap Powerstrap closure and the R3 outsole with a recessed cleat position. The Vega Carbon adds Fizik’s newer shape (straighter axis, reduced drop, roomier toe box), an outsole integrated inside the shoe for lower stack height, and two BOA Li2 dials that adjust instep and midfoot separately.

Vega Carbon or Vento Omna?

They sit at opposite ends of the Vento road range. The Vega Carbon is Fizik’s top-level race shoe: integrated full-carbon outsole (stiffness 10), Aeroweave Pro upper, two Li2 BOA dials, 239 g, €399 RRP. The Vento Omna is the entry point: R5 nylon outsole (stiffness 6), PU upper, one L6 BOA dial, 238 g, €149 RRP. Choose the Vega if you race or want the most direct pedalling; the Omna if you’re starting out or want a more forgiving sole. Weight is not the difference — Fizik lists them 1 g apart.

How stiff are Fizik’s road soles?

Fizik rates each outsole on its own stiffness index. In the Vento road shoes we carry, the Vega Carbon, Vento Powerstrap Aeroweave and PNS Mechanism are 10 (full carbon, which Fizik calls its most responsive), the Lyra is 8 and the Vento Omna is 6 (both nylon composite). Higher is stiffer and more direct; the lower numbers trade some directness for comfort on long rides. It’s Fizik’s own scale, so compare within Fizik rather than against other brands’ numbers.

Carbon sole

The sole plate is made of carbon fibre rather than nylon or carbon-reinforced nylon. Carbon is stiffer and lighter, so less of your effort is lost to flex; the brand’s stiffness index is in the spec table.

Top-level racing shoe

Fizik calls Vega Carbon its latest top-level road racing shoe, engineered from the sole up for pro racers: a highly stiff integrated carbon outsole, an ultra-breathable upper, a revised shape and a more ergonomic fit, designed around modern race-bike geometry and riding positions.

Natural new shape

Fizik’s new shape has a straighter axis and reduced drop for a more natural feel when pedalling, plus an expanded toe box that lets the foot stretch fully — for comfort on hard rides, from stage races to weekly training.

Outsole on the inside

The full-carbon outsole is integrated inside the shoe and hidden by the upper. Fizik says this raises stiffness while lowering stack height in the cleat area and gives full medial support; with the reduced drop, it prioritises foot stability for more efficient power transfer.

Aeroweave Pro upper

Material mapping puts breathable fabrics where ventilation is needed and supportive ones where comfort matters. Aeroweave woven fabric is paired with a thin translucent mesh to save weight, and a perforated Airprene bootie wraps the foot for a pressure-free fit.

Dual-Dial Li2 BOA Fit System

Two separate BOA Li2 dials adjust the instep and the midfoot independently. The panels they pull wrap around the medial side of the foot, so the fit can be tuned to your own foot shape.

Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe and measure the distance in centimetres. Measure both feet and go by the longer one.
