Hands-free voice control

Hands-free voice control

A built-in microphone lets you control the Edge with your voice — say “Okay, Garmin” to hear data such as heart rate or average power, change screens, request a route or report a hazard. With the Garmin Messenger app and a connected smartphone you can also send text and voice messages. Garmin notes that voice commands work in select languages and performance may vary with riding conditions.

Advanced navigation & Route Options

Advanced navigation & Route Options

Intelligent route options based on ride time and bike type, Free Flow routing for training routes with fewer stops, Trendline popularity routing and a course preview with distance, elevation, surface mix, high-traffic percentage and reported hazards, per Garmin.

Up Ahead

Up Ahead

Choose which points of interest you want to see while riding a course — cafés, water fountains, public toilets — and the Edge shows how far away they are.

Road hazard alerts

Road hazard alerts

Alerts for hazards reported by other cyclists, such as potholes and road closures, when paired with your phone and Garmin Connect. You can add your own reports hands-free with voice control.

Garmin Coach

Garmin Coach

Personalised cycling training plans for an event or a milestone that adapt to your training, recovery and the demands of the course; you can include strength workouts too.

GroupRide

GroupRide

In-ride messaging, live locations, incident-detection alerts for other riders, leaderboards for climbs and real-time data compared with the group. The Edge can show you an active GroupRide nearby to join.

Real-time stamina & Power Guide

Stamina insights show how much energy you have left at your current effort; Power Guide recommends power targets based on real-time stamina, altitude and wind.

Smart fuelling

When following Power Guide or a workout, the Edge gives fuelling guidance through the ride based on your fitness, course demands, heat and humidity — plus hydration and nutrition alerts.

ClimbPro

Remaining ascent and gradient on every climb, on courses and free rides, and nearby climbs on the map.

Trailforks, Forksight & MTB Dynamics

Preloaded maps with worldwide Trailforks trail data, Forksight mode for trail names ahead, enduro and downhill profiles with 5 Hz multi-band GPS recording, timing gates, jump metrics and Grit/Flow.

Reverse charging

Charge another device — such as a compatible phone or tail light — from the Edge in an emergency, with a compatible USB-C cable (not intended to charge while riding).

Varia, incident detection & LiveTrack

Pairs with Varia radar and smart lights and can control them; incident detection (on- and off-road) messages your emergency contacts with your location; LiveTrack, a PIN-protected bike alarm, Find My Edge and an on-screen bike bell (double tap).

Di2 & AXS integration

Shimano Di2 (incl. Synchro Shift) and SRAM AXS integration: use your shifters to control the Edge, see groupset battery and, after the ride, gear-ratio analysis.

Frequently asked questions

Answered from this product’s published information. Questions about orders or anything else go to our team.

What is new on the Edge 1060 compared with the Edge 1050?

Voice: the 1060 adds a built-in microphone, so you can control it with “Okay, Garmin” and send voice messages; the 1050 already had the speaker. Garmin also added Route Options, expanded Route Previews, Free Flow routing, the Up Ahead POI view, road-closure alerts and reverse charging. The 3.5-inch touchscreen-plus-buttons layout carries over.

Does voice control work in every language?

Not yet: Garmin says voice commands are available in select languages and that performance can vary with riding conditions. Check Garmin's support pages for the current language list before relying on it.

How long does the Edge 1060 battery last?

Garmin quotes up to 20 hours in demanding use and up to 60 hours in battery save mode. For longer events it supports in-ride power from the Garmin Power Mount and the Garmin Charge battery pack.

Can I send messages from the Edge 1060?

Yes, with a connected smartphone: text and voice messages go through the Garmin Messenger app, and the speaker reads incoming voice messages aloud. Outside phone coverage you can pair a compatible inReach satellite device (subscription required). Quick text replies to calls are Android only.

Which maps does it come with?

It is preloaded with Garmin's routable cycle map, including worldwide MTB trail data from Trailforks, and has 64 GB of internal memory. You can add, swap or update maps over Wi-Fi with the on-device map manager.

Does it work with Shimano Di2 and SRAM AXS?

Yes. Garmin lists Shimano Di2 Synchro Shift integration, SRAM AXS integration and ANT+ electronic shifting; after the ride it shows gear-ratio analysis.

Do I need sensors for the training features?

For some of them. Garmin says certain training and performance features require a compatible heart rate monitor, power meter or both — the HRM 600 is one Garmin pairs with it.

What comes in the box?

The Edge 1060, a flush out-front mount, a standard mount, a tether, a charging/data cable and documentation.
