Is the Cinturato Velo TLR still made?

Pirelli no longer lists the Cinturato Velo TLR in its catalogue — the last listing we found is from 2024 — so these are the last units. On its 2023 page Pirelli said the Cinturato Velo TLR is hookless compatible within the ETRTO maximum pressure limit. For a current tubeless endurance tyre, look at the Cinturato EVO, which Pirelli benchmarks against the Velo in its own tests.

Tube type or TLR: which Pirelli road tyre should I choose?

TLR (tubeless ready) tyres can be set up tubeless: among the Pirelli road tyres we stock these are the P ZERO Race TLR SL-R, TLR RS, TLR and TLR 4S and the Cinturato EVO, and Pirelli marks them all hookless compatible. Tube-type tyres — the P ZERO Race RS, P ZERO Race, Race 4S, P ZERO Road and Cinturato Sport — are used with an inner tube, and the tyre itself can weigh less: the RS is a claimed 245 g in 700x30 against 310 g for the TLR RS. Pirelli recommends pairing the RS with its TPU SmarTUBE for a record system weight.

SmartNET Silica compound

A compound whose microscopic rod-shaped silica particles are arranged systematically rather than chaotically. Pirelli says this reduces heat build-up for high rolling efficiency, gives reliable wet grip thanks to silica’s affinity for water, and adds puncture resistance and mileage.

Armour Tech casing

Pirelli’s patented 60 TPI tubeless-ready endurance casing: Kevlar fibres in the compound form a chemical barrier against punctures, a fabric layer runs from bead to bead, and an extra anti-puncture layer sits under the tread.
