Gran Tourer or Gran Tourer II?

Same silhouette and walkable GravelGrip rubber sole; the difference is the closure. The Gran Tourer (Lace) uses QUOC’s double-lock laces: QUOC says lace-ups suit wider feet, and Cyclingnews found them secure all ride, but you can’t adjust on the move. The Gran Tourer II swaps them for a QUOC dial with one-click release and, per QUOC, a stiffer nylon-composite midsole, although QUOC’s current chart rates both 2.5/5 for stiffness. 352 g vs 342 g (EU 42).

Yes: QUOC’s gravel shoes are made for it, with the SPD cleat recessed into the tread. QUOC’s own traction rating ranks them: Gran Tourer and Gran Tourer II 5/5 (GravelGrip rubber, softer 2.5/5 soles), Escape Off-Road and Gran Tourer XC 4/5 (TPU lugs plus toe spikes, stiffer soles). Cyclingnews called the Gran Tourer almost hiking-shoe-like. For long walks and hike-a-bike pick a Gran Tourer; for racing, the XC.

Which pedals work with QUOC gravel shoes?

The Escape Off-Road, Gran Tourer, Gran Tourer II, Gran Tourer XC and Weekend have a fully recessed 2-bolt MTB/SPD cleat mount, per QUOC, so they take Shimano SPD and other 2-bolt off-road cleats, with the cleat tucked inside the tread for walking. On the Gran Tourer XC, Cyclocross Magazine measured the lugs about 50 mm apart (Shimano shoes: 40 mm) and recommends shoe shields with small-bodied pedals such as Crankbrothers or Time ATAC.

How do QUOC shoes size?

Measure your foot from heel to longest toe, in cycling socks, both feet, and use the larger. QUOC has two charts: for the same foot its gravel chart gives a bigger size than its road chart (a 27.0 cm foot is EU 42 in road shoes, EU 43 in gravel shoes). QUOC makes its shoes about 5 mm longer than the foot, advises sizing up if you are between sizes, and says its lace-up models suit wider feet. Whole EU sizes only, no wide versions. Cyclingnews found QUOC sizes slightly larger than most big brands, close to Shimano’s regular fit.

Weekend or Gran Tourer?

Both lace up, take 2-bolt SPD cleats and walk well, and QUOC rates their soles similarly stiff (3/5 and 2.5/5). The Weekend is a cycling sneaker for the city and commuting: flat-pedal friendly with its cleat cover, cork-infused rubber tread, splash-proof microfibre, 415 g. QUOC: measure both feet in your cycling socks, at the end of the day, and use the larger one. Its shoes are made about 5 mm longer than the foot length in the chart. Between sizes, size up. Wider feet: QUOC says its lace-up models offer more adjustability. QUOC uses two charts: for the same foot, its gravel shoes can come out a size larger than its road shoes.

How to measure

Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe and measure the distance in centimetres. Measure both feet and go by the longer one.
