Premium microfibre upper

Premium microfibre upper

An abrasion-resistant microfibre upper that QUOC says stands up to off-road demands while staying breathable and easy to clean, with a rubber toe cap for protection.

Dual-dial precision closure

Two in-house QUOC dials (not BOA) adjust forefoot and instep separately for an even, hotspot-free fit, per QUOC. Cyclocross Magazine notes a short turn back releases the lace fully rather than click by click.

All-Terrain performance tread

All-Terrain performance tread

A carbon-nylon composite midboard (not full carbon) with precision-moulded TPU lugs that QUOC says gives stiffness and grip on singletrack, mud or loose gravel; 4/5 on QUOC’s stiffness and traction ratings.

Signature colour border

Signature colour border

QUOC’s contrast trim around the lower shoe, which works together with the rubber toe cap for added protection.

Integrated replaceable spikes

Integrated replaceable spikes

A field-replaceable, cleat-compatible toe spike that QUOC says adds security on loose climbs and hike-a-bike sections. Cyclocross Magazine’s pair came with long and short spikes (M5 thread) and arch inserts.

Frequently asked questions

Answered from this product’s published information. Questions about orders or anything else go to our team.

Gran Tourer II or Gran Tourer XC?

The XC is the race version: two dials instead of one, a carbon-nylon composite midboard with TPU lugs and toe spikes (QUOC stiffness 4/5 vs 2.5/5), a rubber toe cap and three arch inserts, 327 g vs 342 g. The Gran Tourer II keeps the softer, more walkable GravelGrip rubber (traction 5/5 vs 4/5). Racing and fast gravel: XC; bikepacking and long walks: Gran Tourer II.

Are all Gran Tourer XC colours the same shoe?

Yes. QUOC’s pages for Black, Charcoal and Dusty Pink and for the newer Chalk and Moss list the same features and specification: two dials, carbon-composite/TPU sole, rubber toe cap, three arch inserts, 327 g at EU 42. Only the colourway differs. The Gran Tourer XC Lace is a different model.

Can I walk in it?

Yes: QUOC’s gravel shoes are made for it, with the SPD cleat recessed into the tread. QUOC’s own traction rating ranks them: Gran Tourer and Gran Tourer II 5/5 (GravelGrip rubber, softer 2.5/5 soles), Escape Off-Road and Gran Tourer XC 4/5 (TPU lugs plus toe spikes, stiffer soles). Cyclingnews called the Gran Tourer almost hiking-shoe-like. For long walks and hike-a-bike pick a Gran Tourer; for racing, the XC.

How do QUOC shoes size?

Measure your foot from heel to longest toe, in cycling socks, both feet, and use the larger. QUOC has two charts: for the same foot its gravel chart gives a bigger size than its road chart (a 27.0 cm foot is EU 42 in road shoes, EU 43 in gravel shoes). QUOC makes its shoes about 5 mm longer than the foot, advises sizing up if you are between sizes, and says its lace-up models suit wider feet. Whole EU sizes only, no wide versions. Cyclingnews found QUOC sizes slightly larger than most big brands, close to Shimano’s regular fit.

Is the QUOC dial a BOA?

No. QUOC uses its own in-house dial system on all its dial shoes (Mono II, M3, Escape, Gran Tourer II and XC). It tightens in small clicks; Cyclocross Magazine found that a short turn back releases the lace completely rather than loosening it click by click, so you re-tighten from open. QUOC sells its own replacement dial closure sets.

QUOC: measure both feet in your cycling socks, at the end of the day, and use the larger one. Its shoes are made about 5 mm longer than the foot length in the chart. Between sizes, size up. Wider feet: QUOC says its lace-up models offer more adjustability. QUOC uses two charts: for the same foot, its gravel shoes can come out a size larger than its road shoes.

How to measure

Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe and measure the distance in centimetres. Measure both feet and go by the longer one.

Description

QUOC’s gravel race shoe in the Gran Tourer family: two in-house dials, a carbon-nylon composite midboard with moulded TPU lugs and replaceable toe spikes, a rubber toe cap and three arch inserts, 327 g per shoe (EU 42). Stiffer than the other Gran Tourers (4/5 vs 2.5/5 on QUOC’s rating) for gravel racing, XC and ultra-distance; it is not a full-carbon sole, and for lots of walking the rubber-soled Gran Tourer II is kinder.

  • Dual in-house QUOC dials (not BOA) adjust forefoot and instep separately
  • Carbon-nylon composite midboard with TPU lugs: 4/5 on QUOC’s stiffness and traction ratings
  • Field-replaceable, cleat-compatible toe spikes for loose climbs and hike-a-bike
  • Microfibre upper with rubber toe cap; insole with ball-of-foot pressure relief and three arch inserts
  • 327 g per shoe (EU 42, QUOC); fully recessed 2-bolt SPD cleat
