Carbon sole

The sole plate is made of carbon fibre rather than nylon or carbon-reinforced nylon. Carbon is stiffer and lighter, so less of your effort is lost to flex; the brand’s stiffness index is in the spec table.

Premium microfibre

Premium microfibre

A lightweight, leather-like microfibre upper. QUOC says it gives plush comfort and an elegant finish while resisting scuffs and stretching over long rides.

Carbon fibre sole

Carbon fibre sole

A hand-laid, unidirectional carbon fibre sole that QUOC says provides ultimate stiffness and efficient power transfer; 5/5 on QUOC’s stiffness rating. Cyclingnews measured it at around 4 mm thick, drilled for 3-bolt cleats.

Dovetail padded tongue

A British-inspired dovetail padded tongue, contoured, QUOC says, for better circulation.

Dual dial closure

Dual dial closure

Two QUOC dials (its own system, not BOA) for a micro-adjustable fit with one-click release; QUOC says it is secure enough for sprints and easy enough for mid-ride adjustments.

Anatomical insole

Anatomical insole

A vibration-absorbing insole with moulded arch support and metatarsal shaping that QUOC says reduces fatigue and improves blood flow on long efforts; three arch inserts let you tune the support.

Frequently asked questions

Answered from this product’s published information. Questions about orders or anything else go to our team.

Mono II or M3?

Both have full-carbon soles rated 5/5 for stiffness by QUOC and two dials. The Mono II is the classic: a leather-like microfibre upper with a padded tongue and an understated look, 244 g, for road riding and training (ventilation 3/5 on QUOC’s chart). The M3 Air and M3 Pro are QUOC’s race shoes: a tongueless TPU wrap with parallel dials, 226 g (Air) and 240 g (Pro), and more airflow (5/5 and 4/5). Comfort and looks: Mono II; racing: M3.

Escape Road or Mono II?

The Mono II has a full-carbon sole (QUOC stiffness 5/5), two dials and a microfibre upper, 244 g. The Escape Road has a carbon-composite sole that QUOC tunes with some flex for comfort (4/5), one dial, a tougher easy-clean PU upper with a toe guard and a replaceable TPU heel pad, 255 g. Performance road riding: Mono II; adventure road rides and touring, where scuffs and stops happen: Escape Road.

How do QUOC shoes size?

Measure your foot from heel to longest toe, in cycling socks, both feet, and use the larger. QUOC has two charts: for the same foot its gravel chart gives a bigger size than its road chart (a 27.0 cm foot is EU 42 in road shoes, EU 43 in gravel shoes). QUOC makes its shoes about 5 mm longer than the foot, advises sizing up if you are between sizes, and says its lace-up models suit wider feet. Whole EU sizes only, no wide versions. Cyclingnews found QUOC sizes slightly larger than most big brands, close to Shimano’s regular fit.

Is the QUOC dial a BOA?

No. QUOC uses its own in-house dial system on all its dial shoes (Mono II, M3, Escape, Gran Tourer II and XC). It tightens in small clicks; Cyclocross Magazine found that a short turn back releases the lace completely rather than loosening it click by click, so you re-tighten from open. QUOC sells its own replacement dial closure sets.

Which cleats do QUOC road shoes take?

QUOC’s road shoes (Mono II, M3 Air, M3 Pro, Escape Road) are drilled for 3-bolt road cleats, and QUOC lists them as compatible with Look and Speedplay. They have no 2-bolt SPD option; for SPD cleats you can walk in, look at the Escape Off-Road or a Gran Tourer.

QUOC: measure both feet in your cycling socks, at the end of the day, and use the larger one. Its shoes are made about 5 mm longer than the foot length in the chart. Between sizes, size up. Wider feet: QUOC says its lace-up models offer more adjustability. QUOC uses two charts: for the same foot, its gravel shoes can come out a size larger than its road shoes.

How to measure

Stand on a sheet of paper with your heel against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe and measure the distance in centimetres. Measure both feet and go by the longer one.
