Acetic acid

The acetic acid found in vinegar and pickle juice. Santa Madre says it strongly stimulates the taste receptors, diverting the nervous system’s attention from the misfiring nerve–muscle signal behind a cramp.

Ratio 1:0.5

Santa Madre’s everyday ratio: roughly two parts glucose-type carbohydrate (maltodextrin, dextrose) to one part fructose, so both intestinal transporters (SGLT1 for glucose, GLUT5 for fructose) do work. Santa Madre says it avoids digestive trouble and supports strategies of up to 90–100 g of carbohydrate per hour.

Vegan, gluten-, lactose- and palm-oil-free

Santa Madre’s data sheets list this line as 100 % vegan and free of gluten, lactose and palm oil.

Frequently asked questions

Answered from this product’s published information. Questions about orders or anything else go to our team.

How do I use the No Cramp gummy?

Take it as soon as you feel a cramp coming or notice the first signs. Chew it and keep it in your mouth for about 15 seconds. It also gives 37 g of carbohydrate at a 1:0.5 ratio.

Does it replace electrolytes?

No. Santa Madre says cramps come from neuromuscular fatigue and from dehydration or a sodium/water imbalance; the acetic acid acts on the nerve signal at the moment of cramping. Keep drinking and taking salts as planned.

How many Gummy Bars per hour?

Each 45 g gummy bar has 37 g of carbohydrate at a 1:0.5 ratio, so two per hour is 74 g. Santa Madre says the formula suits strategies of up to 100 g per hour; add a drink or gel to reach higher amounts.

Description

A gummy for the moment a cramp starts: Santa Madre adds acetic acid — the active part of the pickle-juice trick — which it says releases cramps almost immediately by overriding the faulty nerve signal. Each 45 g gummy also gives 37 g of carbohydrate at a 1:0.5 ratio.
