Marathon Plus, Green Marathon or Kojak for my Brompton?

All three fit the 16-inch (349) Brompton wheel. The Marathon Plus has Schwalbe’s thickest protection (5 mm SmartGuard) and is the heaviest (480 g). The Green Marathon is lighter (410 g) with GreenGuard and Schwalbe’s most sustainable build. The Kojak is a fast slick at 230 g with RaceGuard, for riders who want speed over maximum protection.

What pressure should I use in a 16-inch Schwalbe tyre?

Schwalbe’s ranges: Marathon Plus and Green Marathon 4.5–7.5 bar (65–110 psi); Kojak 5–8 bar (70–115 psi). Schwalbe adds that on the Marathon Plus you should use a gauge — the thumb test does not work because of its thick protection layer.

Which inner tube fits these 16-inch tyres?

Schwalbe tube No. 4 (16/18 inch) covers ETRTO 28→37-349, so it fits the 35-349 Marathon Plus and Green Marathon and the 32-349 Kojak. It comes with a car-type (AV/Schrader) valve, 40 mm long.

Can I use the Marathon Plus or Green Marathon on an e-bike?

Yes. Both carry Schwalbe’s E-25 rating, for pedelecs assisted up to 25 km/h; Schwalbe adds that the main Marathon Plus sizes are approved and tested for e-bikes up to 50 km/h.
