Power meter in the chainring

The power meter is built into the direct-mount aero chainring itself. SRAM claims readings accurate to ±1.5 % that are not affected by changing weather during a ride, transmitted over ANT+ and Bluetooth.

Aero chainring

A closed, disc-like chainring face. SRAM lists improved aerodynamics for time trial and triathlon as the reason for this version.

X-SYNC

SRAM's wide-tooth, narrow-tooth profile: alternating tooth widths fill the inner and outer chain links, which SRAM says gives maximum chain control on a single chainring without a front derailleur or chain guide.

AXS enabled

Pairs with the SRAM AXS app for monitoring and firmware updates.

Can I change the chainring size on the power meter kit later?

Not on its own: SRAM integrates the power meter into the chainring itself, so each size is a complete kit. Choosing a different size means a different kit — pick your ring size carefully (44T up to 68T exist).

How accurate is the RED AXS aero power meter and what does it connect to?

SRAM claims ±1.5 % accuracy, unaffected by climate changes during the ride. It transmits over ANT+ and Bluetooth, so it pairs with bike computers and apps using either, and it is managed and updated through the SRAM AXS app.

Will this chainring fit my crankset?

It fits cranks with SRAM's 8-bolt direct-mount interface, which is what the RED and Force AXS E1 crank arms use — SRAM lists the mount as "8-Bolt", direct mount, 6.5 mm offset. It is a 1x ring only. If your crank arms are not the 8-bolt E1 type, it will not bolt on; send us your crank model and we will check.

Which chain do I need?

SRAM lists these rings for 12- and 13-speed drivetrains and for its Eagle, road Flattop (D1/E1) and T-Type chain technologies. A standard round-profile 11-speed chain is not on that list.
