Perfect Fit

Winter models are designed with enough interior space to add inner layers or base layers.

LIGHTSHELL fabric

Gobik’s lightweight, rain-resistant, breathable shell fabric with a hydrophobic membrane. It dries quickly, so it can be folded away soon after a shower. Gobik quotes a 10,000 mm water column and 10,000 g/m²/24h breathability.

Drop-Tail

A longer rear that gives extra protection against rear-wheel spray.

Sealed Zipper

A sealed front zip that keeps wind and rain from getting inside the garment.

How does the original Pluvia rain jacket fit?

Gobik lists it as Perfect Fit. Its product page currently marks it as running small and recommends one size up — worth doing anyway if you want to pull it over a jersey plus a gilet.

Pluvia 2.0 or the original Pluvia?

Both are ultralight LIGHTSHELL rain shells with sealed seams, silicone-reinforced shoulders, a sealed SBS zip, a drop tail and reflective details, 100 g in M per Gobik. The 2.0 adds a redesigned, more comfortable pattern, side and rear ventilation openings and a glossy finish for visibility, and Gobik rates it for light to moderate rain; the original packs into its own inner mesh pocket and is pitched at wind and occasional light rain.

What conditions is the original Pluvia made for?

Sudden weather changes on a mountain pass or a long spring or autumn ride: Gobik says it lets you keep riding in wind and occasional light rain, with a 10–18 °C use range, 1/5 insulation and 3/5 rain and wind protection. It folds into its inner mesh pocket to carry.

How do I wash a Gobik rain jacket?

Gobik’s care instructions: cold water, neutral detergent, no fabric softener; wash inside out with zips and Velcro closed, in a laundry bag on a delicate or low-spin programme; dry inside out in the shade; no soaking, wringing, ironing or dry cleaning. Gobik also warns that backpack or bag straps rubbing the fabric cause wear that its warranty does not cover.
