Multipod

3D-printed elastomer padding inside the Elemento, made of small pods that deform and shear on impact. KASK designed it to help manage rotational forces while also improving airflow and comfort against the head.

Fluid Carbon 12

A composite technopolymer that forms sections of the Elemento's shell. KASK says it absorbs impact energy more effectively than conventional polycarbonate and spreads the load more evenly across the helmet.

HyVent

The Elemento's shell structure, designed by KASK to maximise airflow over the head and regulate its temperature. Thinner EPS made possible by Fluid Carbon 12 opens larger internal channels, which is where KASK's claimed 0.26 °C cooling advantage over the Protone Icon comes from.

WG11

KASK's own rotational-impact test protocol, developed with the European standards working group WG11. Every KASK helmet is tested for oblique as well as direct impacts, on top of EN 1078, CPSC 1203 and AS/NZS 2063 certification. KASK uses it instead of a MIPS liner.

Octo Fit

KASK's retention system: a rubberised dial you can adjust on the move, and a rear cradle with gel pads that pivots to follow the shape of your head. The Protone Icon and Elemento use the updated Octo Fit Plus.

Frequently asked questions

Answered from this product’s published information. Questions about orders or anything else go to our team.

Should I choose the KASK Protone Icon or the Elemento?

KASK positions the Elemento as its aero-and-cooling flagship and quotes, against the Protone Icon, a 1.5% reduction in aerodynamic drag and roughly 0.26 °C lower head temperature. The Protone Icon is the lighter, simpler classic at a claimed 230 g in a medium. Choose the Elemento for racing and hot weather, the Protone Icon for an all-round road helmet.

How safe is the KASK Elemento?

The Virginia Tech Helmet Lab, the independent US laboratory that ranks helmets by measured concussion risk, rates it 4 out of 5 stars with a score of 11.9 (lower is better). It also passes KASK's own WG11 rotational impact protocol, helped by the Multipod 3D-printed padding.

Do KASK helmets have MIPS?

No. Instead of the MIPS liner, KASK tests every helmet to its own WG11 rotational impact protocol, developed with the European standards working group that measures shock absorption from oblique as well as direct impacts. KASK helmets are also certified to EN 1078, CPSC 1203 and AS/NZS 2063.

How do I choose the right helmet size?

Measure your head with a tape about one centimetre above the eyebrows, at the widest point, and match that to the model's size range. On the KASK Mojito 3 for example small covers 50-56 cm, medium 52-58 cm and large 59-62 cm. If you fall between two sizes, head shape decides it, so come and try both in the shop.
