Should I choose the KASK Protone Icon or the Elemento?

Should I choose the KASK Mojito 3 or the Protone Icon?

Both are claimed at around 230 g in a medium and share the Octo Fit retention and KASK's WG11 testing. The Mojito 3 is the everyday road helmet with open vents; the Protone Icon has the more closed, aero-leaning shell and sits above it in the range. For training and commuting the Mojito 3 is plenty of helmet.

Do KASK helmets have MIPS?

No. Instead of the MIPS liner, KASK tests every helmet to its own WG11 rotational impact protocol, developed with the European standards working group that measures shock absorption from oblique as well as direct impacts. KASK helmets are also certified to EN 1078, CPSC 1203 and AS/NZS 2063.

How do I choose the right helmet size?

Measure your head with a tape about one centimetre above the eyebrows, at the widest point, and match that to the model's size range. On the KASK Mojito 3 for example small covers 50-56 cm, medium 52-58 cm and large 59-62 cm. If you fall between two sizes, head shape decides it, so come and try both in the shop.

Inner Frame

An internal strengthening frame moulded into the Protone Icon's shell. KASK says it gives the helmet greater mechanical strength and a more compact structure, and in an impact keeps the helmet from breaking into several pieces.

WG11

KASK's own rotational-impact test protocol, developed with the European standards working group WG11. Every KASK helmet is tested for oblique as well as direct impacts, on top of EN 1078, CPSC 1203 and AS/NZS 2063 certification. KASK uses it instead of a MIPS liner.

Octo Fit

KASK's retention system: a rubberised dial you can adjust on the move, and a rear cradle with gel pads that pivots to follow the shape of your head. The Protone Icon and Elemento use the updated Octo Fit Plus.

Faux leather chinstrap

KASK's signature chinstrap in hypoallergenic faux leather. It is easy to clean, sits comfortably against the skin and helps avoid the irritation that fabric straps can cause.
