Is the Alt_Road jersey merino, and what is it for?

It is a merino blend, not pure merino. The Alt_Road LS Jersey 2.0 is 64% polyester and 36% wool in a gridded, air-permeable knit (MAAP rates it for 18–30 °C); the first-generation Alt_Road Jersey is 47% virgin wool, 49% nylon and 4% elastane (NATURALMATCH®), which MAAP says is naturally odour-resistant. Both are Core Fit with ripstop Cordura® pockets and YKK zips, built for gravel, bikepacking and long mixed-terrain days rather than racing.

What is the difference between the Alt_Road LS Jersey 2.0 and the original Alt_Road Jersey?

Apart from the sleeve length, the fabric: the LS 2.0 uses a lighter gridded Merino blend (64% polyester, 36% wool) that MAAP describes as highly air-permeable, while the original short-sleeve uses the NATURALMATCH® blend with more wool (47%). The 2.0 also gets a 4-pocket system in stretch ripstop Cordura®, an angled zipped stash pocket and flatlock stitching against chafing. Both keep YKK zips.

How does MAAP sizing run? Should I size up for a Race Fit jersey?

MAAP uses one men's chart for all its jerseys: chest 94–100 cm is an M, for example (see the size guide). Race Fit jerseys are cut close and compressive, so they feel tighter than a Core Fit jersey in the same size, but MAAP does not tell you to size up. Its advice: between two sizes, take the smaller for a tighter fit or the larger for a looser one, and if chest and waist disagree, go by your chest.

Core Fit

NATURALMATCH® merino blend

A lightweight stretch blend of extra-fine merino virgin wool and performance synthetics. MAAP says the natural fibres are odour-resistant while the synthetics add durability and moisture management.

Cordura® and ripstop panels

A stretch ripstop Cordura® back pocket with elasticated edge and stretch woven ripstop side panels add durability where it matters most, MAAP says.

Side zip stash pocket

A zipped stash pocket on the back side keeps cash, keys and other valuables secure.

YKK® zips

Durability carried into the details, including YKK® zips on the front and on the stash pocket.

MAAP: if you are on the borderline between two sizes, order the smaller size for a tighter fit or the larger size for a looser fit. If your chest and waist point to different sizes, go by your chest. MAAP uses this one chart for all its men's jerseys, Race Fit and Core Fit alike; its models (about 187 cm) wear a size S.

Chest: around the fullest part, under the arms. Waist: around your natural waistline. Hips: around the fullest part. Keep the tape snug but not tight.
