What changed from the Falconer II to the Falconer 2Vi?

The Falconer II was Sweet’s top road helmet before the 2Vi models: a four-piece variable-elasticity shell, STACC temple cooling, an Occigrip turn-dial and two pad thicknesses, with or without MIPS and with or without magnetic Aerocovers. The current Falconer 2Vi Mips and Falconer Aero 2Vi Mips move to the 2Vi platform with Mips Air, four impact shields, the 360 Occigrip system with on-the-fly height adjustment and a ponytail-friendly rear.

How do I look after a Sweet Protection helmet?

Sweet recommends wiping the helmet with a damp cloth; for a deeper clean, clean water up to 30 °C and mild soap only, then let it dry naturally away from direct heat. Avoid paint, stickers, solvents and cleaning chemicals, which can reduce protection. Sweet warns the helmet is damaged above 62 °C — for example in a car window on a sunny day — and must then be replaced, as it must if you modify any original part.

MIPS

A helmet-integrated low-friction layer designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain from angled impacts (Sweet).

EVA shock-absorbing liner

An ethylene-vinyl-acetate liner that Sweet says absorbs shocks in low volume, with high memory and crack resistance, for low-speed impacts.

Occigrip turn-dial

A low-volume adjuster that gives a firm fit and stops the helmet rolling, adjustable in reach and height (Sweet).

Comfort pads, two thicknesses

Moulded pads in anti-allergenic, moisture-wicking fabric; each helmet comes with two pad thicknesses to fine-tune the fit (Sweet).

Digitally optimised ventilation

Vents and internal channels optimised with digital airflow simulation for good airflow at different speeds (Sweet).

STACC channel

A front vent, internal channel and exhaust vent that cool the temporal artery without exposing the temples (Sweet).
