Grip compound

“Flexible, damping and traction”: designed for modern cross-country, down-country, trail and gravel riding. Continental says it offers an excellent balance of grip and rolling resistance and is the number-one choice for all-round balanced characteristics. Continental’s Grip and Rapid compounds include its BlackChili compound.

Trail casing

An adaptive and robust one-ply construction (3/330 TPI), its build and fabric tailored for robustness and ground adaptation, with a reinforced sidewall and crown for demanding down-country and trail riding — with, Continental says, superb adaptivity and puncture protection. Tubeless Ready and hookless compatible, with a foldable aramid bead.

Terra Adventure tread design

An MTB-inspired knobby pattern for rough gravel, loose and natural soils in dry to wet conditions: a 3-3-4 centre stud design for braking, transition and rolling, and strong, angled and slatted shoulder knobs for cornering and off-camber grip. Continental makes it in widths up to 55 mm.

Graphite-Reflex strip

Graphite Reflex is a sidewall finish that Continental says gives higher visibility. It is not a certified reflector: Continental states it does not meet ECE-R88 and does not count as reflective under the German StVZO. On the Terra Adventure the tyre is black/black; tread, casing and compound are the same as the standard version.

Tubeless Ready (TR)

Continental says its TR casing is robust against damage and penetration from foreign objects, and that TR tyres can be run tubeless or with an inner tube. For the first tubeless mounting Continental recommends at least 30 ml of Conti RevoSealant per tyre: spin the wheel to spread it, pump to the allowed maximum pressure and check the pressure again before the next ride.

E-bike approval

Continental draws on more than 100 years of moped and motorcycle tyres for its e-bike tyres. Tyres marked E25 are approved for e-bikes up to 25 km/h; those marked E50 are also certified for S-Pedelecs up to 50 km/h. Continental says their structure gives high puncture protection and low rolling resistance, and protects against the premature wear caused by the extra driving force.

Terra Adventure or Terra Trail?

Terra Adventure is Continental’s tough-gravel tyre: an MTB-inspired knobby tread for rough gravel, loose and natural soils in dry to wet conditions, in widths up to 55 mm, on the Trail casing (3/330 TPI) with Grip compound — Continental pitches it for off-road bikepacking and challenging gravel rides.
