What is PAAS on the P ZERO Race TLR SL-R?

PAAS (Pirelli Advanced Aerodynamic System) is a patent-pending tyre profile developed with CFD analysis and wind-tunnel testing. It shapes the tyre’s transition to the rim and the position of its widest point so airflow stays attached longer and the wheel’s sailing effect in crosswinds is maximised; a micro-textured slick tread further optimises airflow. Pirelli’s internal tests against the TLR RS show average savings of up to 5 W in crosswinds and peaks of up to 15 W, and Pirelli says the gains hold as the tyre wears.

What rim width is the P ZERO Race TLR SL-R designed for?

Pirelli says the SL-R complies with the latest ETRTO standards and is optimised for modern wide rims with internal widths of 22 to 25 mm. It is hookless compatible within Pirelli’s indicated maximum pressure limits. Pirelli currently lists it in 28 and 30 mm.
